My galaxy 7 for ran over so my boyfriend's mom gave me her Honor 6x and it won't let me use my email to set it up. It wants me to use a previous email that was synced to the device. I have factory reset it and it still does it. I need help to get it started with my email.

Welcome to Android Central! That's Factory Reset Protection, which is meant to discourage thieves from stealing a phone and doing a simple factory reset to make it their own. Assuming your boyfriend's mom was the original owner of the phone, ask her to help you log in with her information. Once you do, you need to go to Settings>Accounts and make sure you remove her Google account from the phone, and then do another factory reset. You should then be able to set it up as your own.
