Honor 7x - issues with dual sim

Hi all,

So I finally got my 7x today and love it. Much slimmer than anticipated.

I need it to use for work and home, fed up of having two phones on me at all time. So basically, I set it up this morning and added the two sims. Problem is, one sim always shows as 'Emergency Calls Only'.

I am aware that one sim will work as 2g only, which is fine. I do not need to use data on sim 2, just to receive calls and texts. The issue is, I only receive calls and texts on it when I head to the dual sim section and switch to only use Sim 1.

I choose dual - sim 1 works, 2 has emergency calls only.
I choose for just sim 1 - Obviously, nothing from sim 2.
I choose to use sim 2 - sim 2 receives texts and calls (and obviously 1 is off)

Any ideas?

I've used two SIMs in my 7X without issue (that is, the second slot didn't read "Emergency Only"). It sounds like the phone doesn't see a valid connection on the second SIM, or that the SIM itself may be damaged.

And make sure your APN settings are accurate for both SIM slots, though that should only affect data and SMS/MMS access.

(And I'm still using an Apple device as my daily driver and won't be switching any time soon... The 7X is my second line and it's a fun device, but I'm deeply entrenched in the Apple ecosystem.)

Seems likely that 2G is disabled/no longer available in your area
