Problem with camera

I just got my phone and one thing has been really annoying me... Whenever I open up any camera-related app; the phone freezes (eg. Instagram story section, default camera app, Snapchat homescreen etc.)
I don't have many extra apps installed as my phone is new.
I would appreciate if someone could help me with solving this slowdown issue

PS: I have the emui 8 update and cannot downgrade (app dev)

It could be the camera module (usually the rear one is the default) that's bad - the app opens, waits for the camera to respond that it's there ... and waits forever, because the camera isn't working. In any case, the phone is new, and it's not working - can you bring it back and get a replacement? (Different countries work differently - in the US, you can usually have it replaced within the first 14 days.)
