Hello. If it doesn't uninstall normally, then go to Settings - Security - Device Administrators and uncheck it if there.

I have uninstalled and checked the security setting listed, not present. The New Republic has still taken over my news feeds. I used to be able to click stories and go to sites. Now I only get install New Republic. I do not trust anyone with such a deceptive practices. How can I remove?

Malwarebytes and Lookout are unobtrusive anti virus apps, maybe Avast also.

I would report it to Google on their Play Store page, and consider a factory reset via the Backup and Reset setting after backing up and syncing essential data and media, not apps. Then download your apps again manually ftom My Apps in the Play Store.
Just what I would do. That sounds bad.

Ah News Republic part of Blinkfeed on the HTC 10, thanks. I shouldn't have assumed it's another warrior / hero type game . I didn't search.

Better moved to the HTC 10 forum.

    Thanks for registering.
I misunderstood. See a link to one thread above.
Try a search on Android Central for : News Republic HTC

There are a few threads on this and I'm sure there are useful posts and advice.

Well, you can go into Settings > Apps > News Republic and disable it.

I don't know how it affects Blinkfeed if you do... I use Google Now Launcher anyway.
