Finding new SD card when connectedto pc

I put a new sd card in my phone, formated it.
I can move files/apps from Internal Storage to it only through the settings and 'Change.
My camera will not give me the option to store pics on the sd card. Internal Storage is grayed out in those settings.

Also, how can I view the contents of the sd card when I have the phone connected to my pc?
It only brings up 'Internal Storage' as an option.

Did you format the card as Internal Storage or Portable Storage?

I must have formated it to Internal because when I go to format now, it says 'Format to Portable'.
Should I format it to portable?

You'll lose all the data on the card, but if there's nothing on there that's important, then it'll probably work better to format as Portable Storage. I generally don't trust Adoptable Storage -- there are too many bugs that people have run into, and if the card fails (which isn't that uncommon), it might crash the phone.

Yep, that did it. Yeah, I only want to put pictures and files on there.
I'm not worried about losing them. OI back them up online as well as connect the phone to my pc and back them up there as well.
