From yesterday, advertising is plaguing my phone. SMS, Chrome, Whatsapp, basically anytime I need to use the keyboard there's a Google advert sitting above it, has anyone else experienced this?

I'm using an HTC 10 from Taiwan and I am in Canada on the Telus network

Welcome to the forums. There was an update just made to one of the keyboards that added an ad bar just above it. Sounds like what you have. You can go to Settings, Apps and uninstall the update.

Yeah, as PJRed2008 said these ads came with the latest TouchPal update (your stock keyboard) and only uninstalling updates will stop them showing up. Another option is installing a third party keyboard and setting it as default. My first recommendation could be Gboard.

    And more about this.

HTC keyboard ads likely an error, but damage is already done https://www.androidcentral.com/htcto...e-already-done

I moved the thread to the HTC 10 forum for more visibility.
