Hi, I have a HTC on UK Vodafone, Android 7.0, software 2.41.401.41

Recently (with no update) my Bluetooth won't switch off. The icon will disappear for a short while but then turns itself back on. Anyone else got this problem and know how to sort it?

A similar thing happened many months ago after the Nougat upgrade, I found a solution online for turning off the battery optimisation for Bluetooth options and this worked. When this happened though, it would not switch off at all - the icon would not disappear and going into settings and Bluetooth to switch it off just did nothing. This time is does seem to be switching off, albeit for a short period.

Any ideas folks?

Thanks
Adrian

Hi there,

Yes, I have tried a restart. It's not paired to a BT Bluetooth device, no, although it is paired by WiFi to a BT Broadband router (and has been since I got the phone 18 months ago). Cheers.

Is it connected to the router via wifi, or via BT? If by wifi, delete the BT pairing to the router if there is any. (If it's connected via BT, that's why you can't turn BT off.)
