Why does my HTC 10 shuts down after turning on

I have an HTC 10 and I am not sure if it's a battery problem or because of the oreo update.

My HTC 10 doesn't work without plugging in the charger then if it's charging I would attempt to turn it on but it will either turn on then shuts down right away if I do something on the screen (swiping the screen to open) or it would turn on but seconds later without doing anything it shuts down then shows that it's charging.

I'm wondering, is it a battery problem or is it the effect of the oreo update because ever since I updated it, at 33% it shuts down. It got worse since I can't use it.

If it was shutting down at 33%, then you already know that you've had a long-standing battery problem. That's just going to get worse with time. Rule it out and have your battery replaced.

I don't know if it is a coincidence but my M8 also had the same issue after a update to lollipop back in the days. When a battery goes it goes nothing that can be done but replacement job.
