Why has my HTC Desire 820 stop working after the Lollipop update?

why does htc desire 820 stop working after lollipop update?

twice I have updated the firmware to lollipop and both times I had to send it back to htc for repair because the power button would stop working, unable to return the htc from 'sleep' mode. htc have simply returned the firmware to kitkat and not addressed the issue. has anyone else had this issue?
