Best Settings for low light pictures

Wondering if someone could give me some tips on taking good low light pictures with my EVO 3D. My wife's Samsung Epic takes great low light pictures. Even the original EVO takes better low light pictures. Anyone know the optimal settings for low light pictures? I have everything in auto and that does not seem to get the best results. What settings work the best. Thanks.
