Yesterday I suddenly discovered my Notificatio pull down bar doesn't work!

If I open an app (browser, etc.) and turn the phone sideways, I can pull it down. But that is the only way.

Has anyone had this happen? Any solutions or suggestions??

Are you using stock or 3rd party launcher?

Tried a reboot?

I'm stock. I've rebooted around 10 times and shut down, waited a few and then restarted at least 3 times.

I even shut down, took the battery out and left it for 30 minutes and then restarted.

Next on my list is to do a full hard reset, but I'm hoping there's a solution before I have to wipe all my apps and start over from scratch reinstalling everything.

Is there a ## menu to get to a display calibration?

You might want to try a 3rd party launcher just for the hell of it

I can't find any reference to a Hash menu (##) that works on a stock phone for screen calibration or testing. I don't want a 3rd party launcher if I can avoid it.

I've had the phone since launch day. Never had a problem with it until now.

I don't know what all of these do, but I did find a list of all the ## menus one. I posted it a while back. See link: http://forums.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-3d/115009-support-what-all-menus.html I hope there something in there that can help you.

WARNING!!!!!!! I'm no phone expert, but I know that these menus are not dummy proof. If you don't know what you're doing you could definitely screw something up, maybe permanently. Explore at your own risk (i.e. don't get mad at me if you break something, I'm not responsible).

have you installed any recent apps?

I'd just put a 3rd party launcher on just to try it - switch back to the stock and see if it 'shocked' the area into working. Could be something cached bad and a 3rd party launcher running might help clear it

Cant say that I have ever seen this before. You pulled the battery and reset the phone. If the third party launcher doesn't do it for you then I would hard reset.

Just a quick update.

The top 1/4 inch of the screen had the touch sensors go dead, so I got a replacement.

I'm back in business!

Hi how much did it cost, u had to replace the digitizer essentially ?

in my case the area of the bar in horizontal the touch works in the browser or game?

pls help resolve as i did a cache clear hard reset and upgrade to ICS nothing seems to work.

Cheers

hi guys i have the same problem
it happened while on a plane flight from dubai to australia
mobile just sitting in my pocket on flight mode, went to use it and no notifications

You can try to rotate your phone (make auto rotate before) and then Press and hold the status bar (on top the screen), then slide your finger downward to open the
Notifications panel. If the notification/quick setting can be opened it will be there is dead touch sensor on top of screen.

The only way is you should install Status Bar Expander: search on Google Play.

no need hardware replacement and it's free !
