Couldn't pay me to switch to AT&T. I borrowed my friends iPhone for one day and had two dropped calls.
Sprint has been good to me over the years and my plan price is lower than anywhere else. I actually prefer the look of the HTC One X BUT I also like the look of the Evo. I think it stands out. Also i'm 98% sure we'll see 3rd party covers for that area and one of those will probably be matte black.
Also, living in NYC, i'm assuming i'll have LTE within the year.
Most do prefer the One X design, its just in this forum the participants are more than a bit biased. I don't think I read a single hands on that didn't question the EVO design. I also wouldn't be too sure of third party back covers considering the antennas are embedded in the cover. You may see them, but you may not.
But enough of about what the EVO 4G LTE's packing, and more about what you'll think of it. It's a beautiful device and, like the rest of the One line, is poised to pull HTC out of its recent doldrums. It's thin, it's light, and it's powerful-- it may not be perfect (see our review of the One X for some small gripes), but it's certainly a step in the right direction
Where it does deviate from the formula, however, is an entirely new chassis with aluminum body with anodized black finish ? matte on the lower back, glossy on the upper third, a shiny border separating it from the screen ? and a thin, bright red kickstand. Yes, the kickstand is back, and as Sprint enjoyed showing me, it's strong enough to prop the phone in either landscape orientation as well as portrait. It's at least the third instance after the original Evo 4G and the HTC HD7.
HTC and Sprint teamed up today to announce the latest in the EVO line: the EVO 4G LTE. So, not the most novel name, but it gets to the point. The 4.7" device is carved out of an aluminum space frame, anodized to an all black finish with red accents and an exposed silver edge. And along that prominent red band across the back? That's right, the kickstand's back. But don't call this part of the One series. This is a Sprint EVO device through and through.
I've never understood why people care so much about how other people will think the phone looks. If you don't like it, don't buy it...it's that simple.
That's perfect for me...one less person in line to buy one increases my chances to get mine.

AnandTech - HTC And Sprint Announce The EVO 4G LTE: Krait and LTE, on Sprint for $199 [Updated w/ Hands-on]
I mean i'm sure some people don't like the look of the phone...I know Engadget wasn't gaga about it...but a lot of reports also say it looks much better in person than pictures.
You can't please everyone but I think the design is unique...and thats something we need from phones these days.

Well, I wanted to switch from AT&T and go with Sprint until I found out what they charge for roaming. I live in San Antonio, but my family lives in VT. I would be off network when I visit my family. I only visit them a couple times a year, but I still need to use my phone. I'm going to renew with AT&T.
No need to be rude. It's not free. Off Sprint's network you are charged. I varified this with a Sprint rep. Data, calls, and texts are subject to extra charges off Sprints network. Maybe roaming was the wrong word, I should have said going off network...
Roaming on Sprint is free. End of story.
Well that rep is wrong lol because i checked the website and tos it says u MAY be lieable which means u could be charged or not depending on which network u roam on
