Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

I heard from a source who wants to remain anonymous that the HTC Hero will be updated to JB before the EVO LTE!!!!

*Cheer up, everyone else is putting out rumors, at least I'm trying to improve on the disappointment of us EVO LTE users*

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

a quick question for those who are having issues with their phones locking up, losing signal, etc...

have you tried to reset and just leave it with the bare minimum of 3rd party apps for a week or two to analyze the impact of adding additional software that, may or may not, introduce the bugs into your phones?

if not, even if/when the new OS arrives, poorly written 3rd party apps could still cause unnecessary problems.

Ha! Just got off the phone with sprint cs. Jelly roll is in testing and should be released in two weeks!

Least she acknowledged the fact that there is something in the pipeline and that she wasn't supposed to talk to customers about it until sprint releases a press release.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Ok, I have been following this thread since it started and figured I would join this site to add my inside information.

My friend is a Supervisor at Sprint in the call center. She is the one who brought this Jelly Bean update to my attention. I have personally, with my own eyes, seen on her work laptop the page that was leaked on here and several other sites. I own a Evo 4g LTE so I do have some interest in when this update will happen. When it did not roll out on the 15th, I contacted her to find out why it was not released. She told me that Sprint is having tons of problems with the iPhone 5's activating on their network, making a lot of customers mad. With it being late in thier fiscal year, they need these iPhone activations to reflect on their quarterly and end of year report to investors. According to her, they pushed the Jelly Bean update back to roll out after the 27th, to allow time and man power to fix these iphone problems. She said it should be rolling out tomorrow. This is from what I am being told, so if its not out tomorrow, I will contact her and find out why its not out yet and update on here.

Which pretty much coincides with my buddies info,, that's why I originally said "by end of month". Great info dude.

Isn't that so F***ING typical... God D**N Apple again. First their phones ruin the 3G network. Then they sue the crap out of everyone, making huge messes everywhere and delaying development. Then they delay our ability to get the Evo LTE at all with an UNNECESSARY import ban. And now they are delaying our Jellybean update. I think I want to barf.

Yup. The sad bit is that stuff like this doesn't even surprise me any more. I just expect it of Apple.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Things I want more than JB:
My screen to not go black when I hit a contact
My ltevo to stop telling me it failed to update my location every 2 mins
To know my husband is calling by the ring tone I've always had for him
And my daughter to stop showing me what Google Now just did on her SG3

And by the way I was at a sprint store and talked to a rep who had an evo lte he said jelly bean was slated to come out before Thanksgiving but with issues that arose they were holding off until all the issues were fixed. I really think he was giving me bs though.

Sounds like you need to get that phone fixed or replaced.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

Wasn't there a time where you could just download a phone update from somewhere on the Sprint website and load it on your phone manually, or am I imagining that? I mean this may have been pre-Android.

Re: Update coming to HTC evo 4g lte

anyone keeping an eye on @sprintcare (or whatever it is called?)

I would expect their twitter to go ablaze as soon as its official (possibly with a corresponding press release)
