Hi everyone, Im new to this, i just flashed my evo 4g sucessfully, and im confused about this kernel stuff. I still have the stock gingerbread 2.3.3 rom and kernel and i want to keep the rom but im concerned about the battery. I would like to know a few things please:

1. What is the best rom that has good battery life, and runs smooth?
2. If i do keep the stock rom, what is a better kernel that will help battery life?
3. Can i put any kernel with any rom?
4. What is a good cpu min, max that would be good for my phone?

Please i would appreciate feedback, thanks.

CM7 and Decks are popular custom roms. You can also get custom stock roms that you MUST use a sense based kernel on. Google sense kernels. You should come up with some options.

Take in consideration that every phone reacts different to different kernels. Just cause one phone does great on that combo doesn't mean another phone will too. You have to play around.and try them all to see your best one that works with your phone.
