Ok, the first time I turned on the phone, It offered me the OTA update, and I declined.

Then I did root the phone.

Now I want to so the OTA update because the SD issue is getting on my nerves, BUT I can't see the update notification again.... I ask the phone to see it there is ant firmware update or HTC update and it tells me that the phone is up to date.... Where should I be looking for the update????

did you do this step?

mv /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip.bak

if so, go back into shell and type this:

mv /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip.bak /system/etc/security/otacerts.zip

No, I didn't do it, and just to make sure, I went to /system/etc/security and otacerts.zip is indeed there...

Is there any way to force it?

Man.. that sucks... so every time you load a rom you have to set up everything from scratch???

Is there any way of saving/exporting/backing up the settings???

This phone is in its infancy, it did just launch on Friday. Give it time, once you find the ROM you love, the DEV will likely make it so after you flash the first time, all subsiquent updates wont require wipe hence you keep everything. Patience young skywalker.
