Im a noob when it comes to this stuff so please bare with me. I'm curious in rooting my Evo but I don't want to damage the phone in anyway. What is the best rooting method? What's cyanogen and unrevoked? Do OTA updates nullify rooting in some form? Does the phone's battery suffer because of it? I've been looking at the forum boards but I'm somewhat confused, a little help? Thanks.

And if you still have questions ask =)

Rooting shouldnt "damage" your phone.

Best rooting method for you will probably be Unrevoked 3 or Simpleroot 2.

Cyangoen is a custom rom(operating sytem) for your evo

Unrevoked is a mothod of root.

The current latest OTA is root-able, don't assume the next one will be.

Phone battery generally improves with minor tweaking.
