bluetooth HID stack

I don't know exactly what this means. If I understand correctly, this HID stack is what I need to link a BT keyboard with my phone. This is what I want to do (wiimote sounds cool, but not what I'm worried about atm).
Is using Cyanogen's rom the only way to do this right now? I actually have 4G where I live, so I want to wait until that's fixed before seriously playing with the Cyanogen's goodness. I read something about this stack not playing well with Sense (I currently use a sense ROM). I have no problem getting rid of sense. There's nothing I love about it.
Bottom line: I'd like to hook up a real keyboard to my phone. I don't want to lose 4G (though, I'll give it up if necessary).
Any advice?

As far as losing 4g with cyanogen you will at the moment, until they have a final rom made.

Also Sprint is releasing froyo today, so as soon as someone gets the update then we can find out if bluetooth works with HID support.
