manual update on evo boot loader problem

basically im stuck in the boot loader mode and cant get out ive done my research somewhat i know i have to update my evo the only problem is when i go to recovery it says
E: cant open /cache/recovery/command
what does that mean?
and when im trying to install the actual file this is everything it says
-- install from sdcard...
finding update package...
opening update package...
verifying update package...
E:failed to verify whole-life signature
E:signature verification failed
installation aborted. ---
how can i install the androind files at all for i can use my phone?
will someone please help?

Rename the File PC36IMG It needs to be in ZIP format...



but Wait are you even root?

Do you have Nand Unlock?

no im root im just trying to get my phone working again thats all.
so the PC36IMG should work?

Put the .ZIP on the Root of your SD card Make sure its Named PC36IMG

When you boot up in bootloader it will search for the file and load it just hit yes when it prompts you to...
