App not recognizing valid email login

This is making me crazy. I have an e-reader account with Kobo (got it when it was the only e-reader on the webOS platform), and when I try to login on my EVO it says the email isn't valid. I changed to another (also valid) email in my account using my computer, and the phone says this email address is invalid as well. This occasionally happens to me when I'm using the Opera browser as well, and I try to login to a site I'm registered on. Anyone have any ideas? TIA
