Yeah that's weird because it could very well be g even though your router is N. Thing is, N is backward compatible with G. So how can you tell?

Some routers, logging in and checking the stats will show you the frequency a device is using to connect in.

At least on my DLINK DGL-5400 GamerLounge router, it does. :D

Holy Snikies Batman! My wifi is going much faster, further from the router!

Just tested. Set my router to "N" only, and the Evo .....WAS ABLE TO CONNECT! Whoot!

Make sure your wireless router is on "N only" and not on "Mixed Mode". If on mixed mode, it will use a/b/g/n, but if on n only, will only look for n. EVO definitely does not work on 5GHz only on 2.4.
