Came across this at XDA and wanted to see if anyone here have tried this and can confirm a difference with their call quality:

  1. Dial ##3282# on your dialer
  2. Choose Edit Mode
  3. Enter Your phone's MSL (call Sprint CS and ask for yours)
  4. Choose the Advanced option
  5. Scroll down and change Home Orig and Roam Orig to EVRC-B
  6. Don't forget to hit menu and commit changes your changes

I don't see how this would affect battery life as this is merely the codec that is being used for calls.

Set both to EVRC-B (Home Orig. and Roam Orig.) and my calls are indeed clearer and much louder. :)

Now, has anyone tried 13k? Shouldn't it be even better? Mine was originaly set to 13k for Roam Orig. and EVRC for Home Orig.

Finally, some people are claiming to get improved battery life by setting the SCI to 4 (less tower polling).

How does this work when roaming? I'd like to try this setting out but I'm going on call and will be on roam all weekend. I just wanted to hear if for some reason roaming was different since the setting was changed...
