I have a delay in data transfer when my phone switches from 3G to 4G or vice versa. Its like turning data off and turning it back on sometimes. When its in 3G or 4G the phone performs just fine.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, they did a crappy job of transistioning the phone's data service back in forth being that 4G is so spotty.

Technical limitation. The 4G and 3G modems get different IPs, so there is no simple way to casually switch between them. It has to re-establish a connection each time. With the current 4G design, there's no way around that.

Yeah, that's why I don't switch 4g on unless I'm going to be planted somewhere I get signal for a while. If I'm just driving and listening to XM or something, it'll goof it up. And as far as I've been able to tell, 3g is fast enough for all the streaming apps that I use regularly.

Except youtube, youtube always seems to suck on 3g.
