Weird Screen issue

Ive done a bit of research and have come up with nothing. So i figured I would ask here to see if anyone else has run into this problem.

When I turn my phone off, and go to turn it back on, Sometimes it will turn on but the screen wont turn on, I know the phone is on because I can hear the sounds it makes while its turning on.

The only solution I have been able to come up with is to pull the battery and try again, it usually takes 3 or 4 tries to get the screen back on.
However sometimes it only takes 2...

Has anyone else had this problem? and is this something sprint would replace the phone for?

Hardware or software issue?

Stock ROM

If sprint were to replace it, are they refurbs? or brand new?

I guess i mis-stated the rom. its currently up to date with all OTA

That's not normal but I would try a factory reset before taking it to the store just to eliminate a software issue. That is the first thing the Sprint tech is going to do anyways. Just be sure you have everything backed up first.
