I got an Evo 4g 2 days ago, it's been running sluggish, and stalling/freezing the past 12 hours. When I bring up the Task Killer I have around 160 mb free.

I have wiped it down a hand full of times with a WetOne to keep it clean. Could it be water logged? Which also brings me to another point the water log indicator is actually missing on my device. Could it be a refurbished unit I was sold? When I went down to buy it, the sales rep said they where expecting more to be shipped in from another store later that day, and ended up calling me back 15 mins after i left the store that they had gotten it in. If so does anyone know what's Sprint's exchange policy for a new 1? I have the insurance on the phone, but I don't want to pay $100 deductible for a new unit it's only been 2 days.

my guess is user error. bad settings or apps.

i bet a hard reset clears it up.

My 11 day old Evo is working fine without a task killer

It's most likely your task killer that is messing it up.

Hmm... have you tried a luna restart? Maybe a trip to the doctor is due.

What apps have you installed. Tried a factory reset?

I as well would suggest a hard reset. As an old habit that dies hard back from my Windows Mobile days, it seems a hard reset when you first get the device is a great way to kick things off.

I believe it is the apps installed. I've been using the Advanced Task Killer from day one and mine still runs smooth.

Apps, apps, apps. Almost certainly it's something you've installed, or the way you have something configured.

I agree with the hard reset... then use an appropriate cleaner instead of a WetOne. This isn't a child's butt you know!

Wet ones haha what in the world going on these days. Root your phone uninstall Sprint bloat ware. If you do not want to root then install start up auditor to keep them apps that you are not using from starting up. Also you can check the box to keep from starting later. I use task panel it kills apps on the blacklist when screen cuts off.

All that Sprint "bloatware" does nothing. It sits in memory using 0 cpu, unless you actually use the app to do something.
