So, I've been working on making some custom boot animations and thought I'd post them up here to share and get comment/suggestions.
Neither of these have sound yet, although I'm working on another version of the wheel spin animation with sound and an Astin Martin DB9
I've got an idea for another one, that I'll start on as soon as I finish these two. Let me know what you guys think.
Anybody got ideas for other custom boot screens you'd like to see?
Instructions for installing these is below, in case anyone doesn't know how. If you have Froyo (2.2), you have to be rooted. 2.1 (I think) will let you install these without root, using some custom software that's out there on the net. If I can find the URL again, I'll post it up here.
you're going to need shell access, either using a terminal emulator or using the command line "adb shell" with your EVO plugged in and and USB Debugging enabled.
#mount -o remount,r,w -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
#cd /system/media
#mv bootanimation.zip bootanimation.zip_bak
#exit
Now, with the animation you want in folder where your console is (and named "bootanimation.zip"):
c:<%path%>\> adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
Now, you just have to reboot your phone and you'll see the animation.
