That can't be right guys. I browsed for less than 10 minutes and sent out two text messages and the battery dropped quite a bit....checked battery usage and android system was at 54%. Anyone have any ideas?

it's all relative. think about it. overall total battery usage is 100%. the OS is really the only constant. the less you use other features/services/apps - the higher % will be attributed to the OS.

and please don't obsess over your battery widgets.

Your battery will drain from 100% to 0% and go dead naturally from the phone being on. The battery usage just shows you what application or feature is contributing to that 100%.

If Android is at 54% it means the remaining apps or features total the other 46% (which totals 100% drain). The higher android system is the more you phone isnt being drained by other apps or features like GPS etc.

Ok but I only had the phone disconnected from a full charge and it drained rather quickly in 20 minutes.

1. do a search for the many reasonable no-hardship battery saving tips.
2. you may have a rogue app or service running.
3. delete/ignore any battery % widget you have installed as they are not accurate.
