Overactive GPS?

Has anyone else noticed their GPS icon is a little over active lately? I think it started for me about a week ago give or take. It seems like every time I pick up my phone the GPS icon flashes a few times and then disappears. I haven't installed any new apps so I am wondering if one of my updates did something. Could it be the new Google maps? Any ideas on how to figure out which app is doing it? Thanks.

Got to your application settings hit running services. Now see what you git running in the background. If you do have maps running, go ahead and stop it if you're not using it.
