Better off paying full price?

Hey guys,
I really do think there is benefit to getting this versus a Flyer connected to internet via mobile hotspot (e.g. not worry about carrying two charged devices, sharing/slowing of the 1 network).
I'm really debating paying the full price for this rather than get locked into crappy 2 year contract if the device or Sprint service becomes obsolete. Not sure what the minimal price plan for contract is, some reports $35/month, others $45/month, but my calculations are that taking on the contract sticks you with $35 X24= $840 or $45 X 24= $1080!!!
The subsidy they are giving is $650-$400=$250, plus if full price doesn't get you stylus, then $250+$80 =$330.
That means you owe them $1080 - $330= $750!!! If you are sure this is your device for now and the future, this is a fine deal, but if not, you are screwed. Anybody have anything to add about my assessment?

Okay I heard they will save you $10/month if you sign up for this which would account for $10X 24 = $240 bonus which makes you owe them $750-$240 = $510. If this is true, I can borderline say that paying $510/24mo= $21 per month for a $400 4G internet connected tablet is worth it?

1 GB doesn't get you 4G?

Yeah, but 1GB doesn't get you 4G. Anybody have any idea what the pricing plan is going to be. Does $35/month get you 4G or $45/month?

That link has a picture that shows 4G starting at $35 I think if you also have a smartphone. They don't have 4G where I live so I guess that's why I don't care. :D

I thought about this issue, but decided I didn't want to HAVE to carry two devices. There are times when I just want my tablet and only my tablet. So it is worth the extra $ to me.

I guess my point wasn't whether to get 3G/4G as I'm funding it very convenient for the reasons you mentioned. My point was to pay full price and have the option to cancel data in case the machine became obsolete with future technology or if the single core processor ever gave out.

Where did you hear this? I bought mine the day it was released and all I got was the free stylus pen.
Hell I even had to buy the case (which is the playbook case) for full retail! If there is a way to cheapen the price I will welcome it.

Early termination fee is 200, so I think you would end up paying 600+one month of Internet service. IMO, that is better than the $500 Flyer.

For DVS1J, I'm was calculating the total cost of buying the device and paying for 24 months of data. The Sprint salesman actually denied the notion of paying for just 1 or 2 Gb. My understanding is that the price of 3 Gb of 3G and unlimited 4G is $45 per month but because I have the Sprint Everything Messaging Individual plan on my Samsung Rant, I got $10 off so $35/month.

As for VVolts, I also saw that $200 is the early termination fee. Is this really true? If so, then you lose nothing buying the View on subsidy if the device ever became obsolete as they already gave you $200-250 subsidy to start. I assume you do get to keep the device and don't have to return the subsidy?

I bought mine yesterday and was able to get the 1Gb 19.99 plan; if the store won't sign you if for it, get it online. The representative confirmed (again) that the early termination fee is 200. Since the View comes with 32GB internal memory over the 16 from the Flyer, this IMO, is a great price.
