changing text message tile colors

Is there anyway to change the colors of the text message bubbles on the HTC First?

Have you tried poking around in the Messages settings? Open the messages App, then press the menu button and select settings.

Download Textra from the playstore. It's a great replacement for the stock messaging app. You can go into Settings and disable the stock message app after you instal Textra.
