Here is a another option for a protective case. I don't have one but, it looks like it has some good features. I am curious to know how the pen works with the screen of the device being completely enclosed. It's expensive but, it may be available on Amazon later at a cheaper price. Any thoughts?

I've used Otterbox products on my cell phones before (I'm a paramedic and ROUGH on electronic devices). All I can say is I don't believe there is a better protective case made than an Otterbox. The one for the Flyer hasn't been released yet, but as soon as it is I will buy it. They may be a bit more expensive, but you truly get what you pay for. I've yet to have one not work with the touch screen and I'm sure they will have figured out a way for the stylus to work as well. Generally, you can find them on eBay a bit cheaper than the retail outlets.
