Will rooting my hero remove sense ui?

I want to root my hero but will that remove sense

I dont think so, if there is even a root available for this device.

Rooting should just give additional admin type privileges, not take anything away from the device.

No you will still have the Sense UI if you decide to use it. And yes you can route the Hero I'm sure, although I've never done it personally.

rooting wont change anything but give you the ability to do whatever you want to your phone.

flashing a custom ROM is what changes things.

what unixpsycho said. i would check out Geek For Me – Android CDMA Sprint Hero for info on rooting, they have a great app to root it for you, and their ROM is pretty good as well

Rooting will not change a thing other than what you tell it to. You can flash roms that remove Sense, in fact that is what I am currently running and absolutely love. I don't miss a thing from Sense and the speed boost is very nice.
