Portrait to Landscape transition time.

I am wondering if 2.1 changes (fixes) the time it takes for the screen to transition from portrait to landscape. I almost never use the landscape keyboard in messaging because I can not stand how long it takes for it to change. I just use the portrait keyboard, but tend to mistype more that I feel I would in landscape.

In short does 2.1 make the phone faster at switching?

I have loaded the 2.1 on my phone and it still takes a bit longer than I like. It is faster in 2.1 than 1.5. One thing you can do that might help is to not open the keyboard until the screen is oriented the way you want it.

It still takes a while. When I first rooted my phone I had a ROM that had very little lag when rotating, but I'm not sure which one it was, but it was a 1.5 and not 2.1.

I almost wonder if the delay is intentional by design. On my old iPhone sometimes the slightest tilt of the screen would cause unwanted rotation. I guess I'll just have to wait until I get my Evo. Then the portrait keyboard should be about the size of the Heros landscape keyboard lol.
