HTC Hero Hack to Use on Sprint without Data

I have an HTC Hero that I would like to use to replace my LG Rumor. Problem is I am on an Sprint plan with 4 others and without data. If I were to get this phone activated at Sprint, it would mean EVERYONE would have to pay for data. I was hoping to find a hack or something to allow me to activate this phone without having to switch plans. Is there anything available? And if so, where can I find it?

Have you tried calling Sprint to asking them if they could do this? It might not need a 'hack' if they can add it to the plan without data.

I don't think you can activate without data. Sprint wants you in a plan. With. No data you can't access apps, unless on wifi. And when you do use an app without data you'll probably have high surcharges.

There also is not a workaround. Sprint handles the activation side and dictates what plans you need to activate.
