Repeated Contacts

So it's cool that the phone syncs contacts automatically from gmail and can sync w/ outlook as well - but, when it come across two of the same contacts, it will save one under phone and the other under google. Is there some way to combine the same contacts into one entry rather than "john doe - phone" and "john doe - google" or do I just have to manually go through and erase doubles? What's anyone's view on this, and how do you handle it?

open the people app, menu ---> view. you can show/hide duplicates there.

for some reason, when i transferred my contacts from my old phone over onto the Hero, it saved them as Google contacts. so now one of these days i have to decide if i really want to go in and switch all of my calling number contacts over to "phone". it's a rough call.

Yea, I was considering the same thing - switching all contacts to either phone or google. Ill start a new thread, see what others are doing...

Is there a way that my Hero (mail app using IMAP) doesnt sync every Gmail contact that I email from my desktop? I dont want them all in my Heros contact list.
