On call alerts

Every now and then, I'm on call for work. Notifications can come in either via SMS, phone calls or emails.

Are there any apps or configs that will help with waking me up from a dead sleep should an SMS message or email come in? I know I can set a ringtone for incoming calls, and I can do the same for incoming SMS messages via HandCent. But what about email?

What email service are you using? If you are using gmail, open the app, press menu and then go to your settings and you can change your email tone from right there.

I do have a gmail account, but I prefer not to use it for this purpose. I have considered creating another IMAP account on my own server and setting the notification to something loud and obnoxious.

Just wondered if there was already some app out there that could handle this.
