Trouble using Genius to text message

When I use teh Genius to button to text message somone in my list of contacts the phone says "No valid locations stored".

When I ask it to send to text to Teri, the phone even says "Did you say send text message to Teri (and it shows the name on the screen)" then it says "No Valid Locations Stored".

I am using my contact list from Google. Does the phone require you to use the TMobile contact list??????

All of my contacts are stored on Google as well and it works fine.
