I was using my 2-3 month old HTC One GPE this morning, and put it in my pocket.. An hour later I pulled it out and the screen was off, and I couldn't get it to turn on. When I got home I plugged it in, but the charging light won't turn on, and I can't get the phone to turn on.

So far I've tried holding the power button for about 60 seconds... Any other suggestions?

I had something similar happen to me a couple of weeks ago. When you hold the power button, do the back and home buttons flash? If so, mine did the exact same thing, nothing I did would work. I eventually let it sit overnight off the charger and it appears that the battery totally drained (the home and back would no longer flash if I held down the power). I then connected it back up to the charger and *hallelujah* the charge light came on and the screen lit up with the charging icon. I left it another half hour and it came back up like normal. Just to be on the safe side I booted into TWRP and cleared the cache and dalvik, and no problems since (knock on wood). I hope this helps, good luck!
