HTC Sync Manager craps out

I installed the HTC Sync Manager yesterday and the installation went ok but now the program keeps initializing itself and pops up on the desktop every few minutes or so. Very irritating. Only way to get this resolved was to uninstall the HTC Sync Manager.

Anybody experience anything similar? solutions?

PS: I installed it on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop w/Windows 7.

Having problems as well. Every time I start Sync Manager it says it incurred an error and needs to close. Even after I updated to the new version. Is there another way to sync music and photos?
