Headphone button response time?

Hey Everyone,

Just switched to the HTC One from an iphone 5 and had an issue with the button on my Astro A*stars, Whenever i press the button on my headset, there is a noticeable delay before any response from my phone (somewhere from one to two seconds.) Is there any way to remove this delay or is this something that i just have to deal with?

You might have to deal with it. Even when trying the bundled headphones with the single button, there is a delay -- I'm assuming -- so that the device can read whether you're about to double-click. When it realizes you haven't, it executes the command. I downloaded the app Headset Button Controller which does an excellent job of mapping the lone button, and there is a pause, though I'm used to it by now.
