Add a tv remote and learn the keys from your air conditioner's remote and stop sweating it. B-)

What kind is your car's remote?
Can you take a picture of it and upload it? Cause mine doesn't seem to have an ir blaster, it's just a plastic cube.

It's for a Mercedes. When one of my friends has a break I'll try it with his car.

I don't believe they are, but may have a red light to indicate they're working.

yea, my acura keys have a small red light. I dont really see the convience of using your phone, but it would be a good back up just in case you locked your self out of the car.

Car remotes are RF; the phone will not substitute for them as it uses IR.

The application is the stock TV application that comes with the HTC One. The HTC One has learning capabilities whereas the S4 doesn't.

This was one of the first things I did when I got my one, remembering how I used to do it back in the 90's with my Palm III. It didn't work with my office air conditioner, so I didn't bother with the ones at home. Guess I'll give it a try after reading this thread.

My S4 remote app is not nearly as smart as my HTC's One app. I'm still amazed at is capabilities.

The OP is talking about split A/Cs. That's where you have several separate consoles around the building. They use remote controls for the thermostat and general controls. You're probably thinking in the lines of a central A/C unit.

HTC probably had no idea what we would be attempting to control with this IR blaster. Haha!

I got this working with my Apple TV by actually letting the Apple TV learn the HTC's remote codes. It doesn't seem to like the cable box remote codes but the TV ones work fine. Now I don't have to worry about losing that damn tiny Apple remote.

Hi, I see it's an old thread. Maybe someone has installed that remote control and it works in the car, too?
Wow, I checked, it works with my car's remote, too. It's incredible! I thought I had no luck at all. Because I've been having some kind of bad luck lately. Then I had problems with the player in my car, the wires were shorted and they began to smoke. So, I had to call an electrician to fix this problem and it cost me buying a new player. Then the air conditioner in my car broke down. The guys from the air conditioning repair service fixed it and again, part of my salary went to repair it. If it goes on like this, I'll soon be ruined for repair services.
