So I noticed that when I would exit out of my Google navigation my Google maps would still be open and it was never like that before. Now as you can see in wakelock detector there are 2 maps running at the same time. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something I can change in the settings. Please help. Thank you!

Have you tried ending one of its process to see what it does?

if you go to settings > apps > running, i always have 2 or 3 maps processes running. 'prefetcher service', 'network initiated service', and 'google location service'. this is only my second android phone, but my first always had maps running as well.

Maybe considering downloading a maps app from the Play Store and disable the Google maps. Google Maps always eats up a lot of battery life :/

If you were to start Google navigation from Google maps...then close navigation when you're done is your maps still open or does it just go straight to your home screen? Mine used to go straight to the home screen and it no longer does that. It goes back to maps.

it goes back to maps, but i can just hit 'back' again to get to the homescreen. maps is still running, but it doesn't affect my battery life at all.
