HTC One / Google Chromecast Question

I ordered a Google Chromecast device from Best Buy the other day. I should have it by Wednesday and have a quick question. I know there are currently 4 apps that are Chromecast compatible along with the browser and tab casting but I was wondering if it is possible to stream downloaded or streaming content playing in the One's native media player to a TV via Chromcast. Is that something I am going to be able to do?

Most likely not. The Chromecast doesn't really stream from your device... Your device tells the Chromecast to pull the video down itself and then it just let's your phone control it.

So when you hit the button on Netflix for your movie to play on Chromecast your phone isn't sending the video.. It just sends the command. The Chromecast then goes and pulls the video down itself.
