Pictures taken at concerts are horrible - what am I doing wrong ?

The only pics I take in low light are of the stage at shows and concerts.
The people on the stage are appear blurred and washed out regardless of the colour of lights being used?
The camera seems unable to handle these pics.
Or do I have a faulty camera?
Are there any particular settings I should be using ?
Has anyone similar experience?

Disabled the flash, it won't work effectively at distance.hold the shutter down until the square turns green or it will be out of focus.

Why don't you post some of the pictures so we can look at them and give you a better answer.

i am not a professional photographer but did you try to:

1. manual focus on the stage?
2. setting the camara to night mode?
3. increasing the ISO to 800+?

My photos at concerts always come out like garbage on any camera I use ha ha. I don't know, I guess the weird lights going crazy...
