How to transfer everything from another phone except installed apps?

Hi,

I am using the HTC transfer tool and choose only messages, etc but somehow it installs all the apps too. I don't want to install all the apps in the old phone. Is it possible?

Should I be uninstalling all apps I don't want in the old phone before using HTC transfer tool?

I vaguely remember using the transfer tool. Is it the tool that's causing the installs or just the process? I've noticed that with the M7 it uses Google Play to compile a list of installed or previously installed apps and starts installing them. It happened when I first changed over to this phone, and like you I thought it was the tool, but later when I did a factory reset it did also with use of the tool. In the case of what your asking I would say that the only way to prevent an attempted install, because you still have to agree to the permissions, right, is to uninstall every app you don't want prior to the transfer.
