I have no idea why this problem happened, one day my phone just couldn't charge and before the battery died, my phone said that it was using too much power to charge. I bought my HTC One from Phones 4u last September and to my luck, when my phone has problems, the company stops functioning. I have tried using different cables/plugs to charge but to no avail.

I emailed HTC and they havent replied after 3 days. I'm not entirely sure what are the procedures for sending my phone for repairs, but I will definitely call them soon if they don't reply. Anyone here have experiences with HTC service and how good/bad it is?

The amounf og charge going into the battery is the amount of current the phone is designed to accept for charging(and that can't be changed) minus the amount of current the phone is using. What "using too much power to charge" means is that the phone is using more current than it can take from the charger, so the battery won't increase in charge, it'll discharge, just more slowly. What it actually means is stop running the power-hogging apps you're running until the battery is charged. (Or just turn the phone off until it's charged.)

That's one reason I won't buy a phone that doesn't have an easily replaceable battery - I'd just swap batteries, pop the discharged one into a charger and keep using the phone. (I always carry at least one fully-charged spare.)
