I bought an unlocked Htc One M7 of eBay which was firstly locked to Verizon. I came to know that it isn't unlocked fully and has got some of the preinstalled verizon apps which I want to remove. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome back! You might be confusing "unlocked" with "rooted." All Verizon phones are carrier unlocked, which means you can use them on other carriers: Device Unlocking Policy | Verizon Wireless. Carrier unlocking has nothing to do with the ability to uninstall preinstalled bloatware--for that, you have to root the phone.

Thanks B. Diddy, but I've got more problems than only the apps. I'm not able to use mobile hot-spot neither able to upgrade or even check for one as it requires a verizon sim card. Please help.

In order to update the system over-the-air on a carrier-specific phone, you often have to be on that carrier's network. If you have a Verizon phone on AT&T, for example, you probably won't be able to get the proper system update, since Verizon is the one who's pushing it. You could try using HTC Sync to update the system.

Mobile hotspots are also usually carrier-specific--so I think you can only use the native hotspot if you're on Verizon.

Thanks a lot. I found a unlocked rom on the HTC support page which could be updated through Htc sync manager. So what is your opinion. Thanks a lot!!

I can't be 100% sure. You'd need to make sure it's compatible with your model. If it's the ROM for an unlocked carrier-free version, it might cause issues on a Verizon M7. Let me ask around.

Is this where you found the ROM? rom-downloads - Support | HTC United States. They don't have official Verizon ROMs, and say you might be able to use HTC Sync Manager to update instead (i.e., it might be able to pull the update from the web somewhere).

This is the place and yes that is the link. I'm thinking about flashing the unlocked one so that I can use mobile hot-spot and solve my other problems. Thanks a lot for all your help.

I'd caution you against doing that. The ROM for the unlocked version may not be completely compatible with a carrier-specific version. If you flash an incompatible ROM, you might brick the phone.
