Mini versions of flagship devices are very popular - it's almost certain that we'll see one for the (M8). Is there interest in a Mini version if the specs are identical or slightly less than what the M8 will offer?

Only if the internals are identical, which the rumours aren't saying, unfortunately. I was really hoping for HTC to go the Sony route with their mini devices. That being said, I'm sure that the M8 mini will be a fine device, and we'll seen what the internals end up being!

That's the problem with making a mini, it gets downgrades. Why bother, isn't that why they released the Desire series?

IMO mini is not going from say 5.2" to 4.7". 4.2" is a mini.

Yes, but only if all-new HTC One mini is to all-new HTC One as DROID MINI is to DROID ULTRA as Z1 Compact is to Z1.

I personally don't but that's only because for my needs.. I'd never buy a mini version. Some people might though if it will save them a few bucks .
