Printing Problem

I have been unable to access Google Cloud Print from my HTC One M8. Although GCP shows up as installed on my device, it does not show up when I select Share from an image or document that I would like to print out. When I checked out GCP on my PC, it shows my printer as installed. I've done a work around my installing the third part app "Cloud Print" which works flawlessly from my phone. I've seen a couple of threads on other forums that indicate this might be a problem with KitKat. Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, is there a way to fix it?
