HTC One M8 Verizon updates using AT&T network

Ok guys, I have a HTC One M8 Verizon, but I am using it with AT&T. Everything is working good. I am living in the US, but I am leaving the country in a month. My question is that a new Verizon update for the M8 just came out a few days ago, but it cannot download it. It says "we were not able to download etc etc..." My biggest concern is that when big updates come out, am I going to be able to receive updates?? since I am not a Verizon user.

ohh and btw, I am taking the phone with me when I leave. I got the Verizon version since it is Factory Unlocked, and I am planning to use it in my country.

You may need to be on Verizon to receive the updates since the updates are pushed out by Verizon.
