So my HTC One (M8) arrives on Monday and this will be my first Android phone and i was wondering if anyone has suggestions for apps and anything else to download? Also some tips on how to get the most out of the phone would be cool.

When you get it, use weaksauce to root it (search on xda). Then download Rom Toolbox and Titanium Backup.

Depends what your coming from ? Our you a social media person ? I use Handcent SMS for texting not the stock app.. much much better IMHO. So many ways to customize in android :)

Not really a downloadable thing, but NFC chips allow the user of the device to greatly automate and customize settings by tapping the back of the phone to an NFC chip. Check it out...

Should you buy these, the app Trigger is a great app to set up functions. Should you decide not to buy these, Trigger also allows phone settings to be customized based on many other things, beside NFC chips, i.e., location, a certain time of the day, or when you connect to a certain WiFi server or Bluetooth device.

Social media and news person.

I suggest you go to this guy's YouTube page. https://www.youtube.com/user/CooLoserTech
Go thru his videos because he has great demos of apps & games every Monday & Wednesday. He has been making great videos for years & I think you will find some great useful apps there.
I'll check out the channel for sure. Thanks dude.
